    It might grow into powder trees if you water it enough.

    Recently I tried out two loads in my 223 using AR2207. I loaded 21 grs of 2207 with the 50 gr Barnes VG. The difference being one lot of powder is around the early 90's vintage and the other lot is a year or so old. I fired 3 shots of each and got, Old Powder ( 2970 ,3011, 3031 fps) with the New Powder ( 3006, 3021, 2984 fps) which surprise surprise average both at 3004 fps. It seems to me that this powder must have been stored well as there is about 30 years between lots and there appears to be no difference in performance.
