2206 is easy to get and pretty temp stable....I like it in .223 or .308 it just works.....
sometimes I reckon we make life hard for ourselves by over thinking stuff.

Muka, be aware that the 120's are a tough little bullet. I have zapped one through a spiker without much fragmentation.

Not saying don't use them, just that so far as I know, they need to hit heavyish bone to expand well.

Max.....thats pretty much the case with ALL projectiles (barring the varmit types and AMAX which are target so super thin jacketed) Ive pushed 125grn .30cal NBT at x39mm speeds with great results on deer and pigs...they sure as shit expand even at that speed....pushed out of .308 case they REALLY expand well, the thick rear jacket doest help hold it together a little.
the 130grn NBT is great lighter animal pill in .270......Ive shot quite a few reds with them...they arent flavour of the month for really big stags as THEY OPEN UP TOO FAST......

just saying your experience quite possibly ISNT the normal thing for NBT

Talking about penciling through a friend i was hunting with last week(who admits to not being able to shoot for shit)
Shot a small weiner fallow 4 times with s&b blackbox factory 308 stuff once in the ars once right up front and then twice in the shoulder
Fuck all damage all penciled though.
Couldnt believe it, i thought they must be fmj but it said hunting on the box
    Poor little bugger

They are an excellent bullet. I use CFE223 or BLC-2 if I can't get it. They are very similar powders. 3k out of 18" barrel. I use cfe223 because it gave me the best speed and accuracy.

They sure can hurt (250 yards).

Hey mate, I've been using AR2206H with 139g hornady interlock out of my 16" 7mm08 going at 2700fps muzzle velocity. I've found one particularly promising load (below) that I'll be following up, which does some serious damage too (also below). Have not had experience with cfe223 but have heard good things about H335, which I will be trying soon with the 120g Barnes ttsx. I'll be sure to report back.

The 120 gr NBT is a good projectile. It also has a thicker copper casing that the 140 gr NBT

I’ve been using 120 gr Sierras which are deadly on Fallow to large bodied red stags with great accuracy from AR2206H in my Kimber but also great in two mates T3’s

I’ve played with CFE223 but found it a dirtier powder than AR2206H but it’s an easy powder to work with as it’s finer granules

I could send you some CFE223 & 120 gr Sierras to see for yourself if you like?

129-FPS according to Hodgdon probably less in a 16" barrel, if that matters to you try it. But 2206h is a good powder and easier to get
BC doesn't matter, until you need to dial
