Thread: A quick 7mm - scratching an itch.

Has anyone tried rl26 in a 7mm08 tikka? I have seen some QL predictions online with some impressive modeled velocity. With a tikka you can run long COL so might be enough case capacity? Might have to try when I get time...

When I looked into it someone on here had mentioned you simply couldn’t get enough in the case so I didn’t look any further.

My 284 has a 21" barrel and I use VV N550, 51.5gns with a hornady 154 SP and get 2960 fps. Both VV n550 and N160 work well in my CZ. Re 17 was faster but less consistent in the accuracy outcomes. Still experimenting with it, looking to see how the speer 160 SPs go in it. I am using my various projectiles for bush hunting and the ELD m for longer shots. Have a great xmas and hopefully the weather will settle down so we can get out and do some harvesting.
