    I've just done some development for a Savage Weather Warrior 7/08. Using the Nosler 140 BT, 48gn R17 clocked 2868, group 58mm @ 200M. 47gn N550 did 2900, group 46mm @ 200M. Using the Berger 140VLD, 45.5gn 4007 gave 2763, 1st group went 16mm, 2nd in some wind was 28mm, both shot at 200. I used a seating depth of around .040". CFE gave good performance with the 120NBT.

    47.4 of 2209 in my T3 708.
Projectiles I ended up using are Accubonds. Don't know why. Just did.
Had no problems with the grouping breaking it in however I used 139gn GMX and GK I think. Seating depth never did effect accuracy of this rifle although I was happy with 1/2" so I didn't muck around any further.

    Scope ok?
    Mounts secure?
    Good luck bro.

    Not 2209?

Book max is around 42gr for 140gr isn't it? I use 43.2gr and even that's getting there in my T3.

I talk from experience....Your'll regret using RL17. Yes it's fast but it is very temperature sensitive - expect velocity changes of up to 150fps with just a small weather change. Your seemingly safe load will have you trying to pry open the bolt if rounds are left in the sun. A case full of 2209 is where it's at for the 7mm08 with 140's!

The Savage 7/08 was a new pre-Accustock stainless synthetic, not tuned in any way. Accuracy opened my eyes a bit. Did not try 2209 here because I try to avoid compressed loads, have seen projectiles slowly forced back out of case a little by pressure from powder. I wouldn't care to unwittingly chamber and fire such a round. The Savage has a full 3" magazine and is nicely throated to match that.

Please, I haven't start load to my 7-08 yet so I am very interested in this discussion.
I have another question, what about the ADI BM2 and AR2213sc? I "may" load mine with some 160-162gn as I have 2x 7mm rem mag too.
    Thank you in advance

BM2 will be too fast, and 2213SC I doubt will be much chop either as I doubt you will get enough in the case.

Just wondering how much 17 you were putting in the 708 140s as I have loaded and fired plenty without issues. Unfortunately I dont have chrono so have no clue about weather change effects on speed. Have not had issues with stiff bolt but suppose thats cause ammo not lying in the sun. It follows that if the stuff is that weather/temp sensitive in 708 it will also be in my saum and wsms. Havnt had a problem so far but will be keeping an eye on things. Better get that chrono soon.

I reload for a mates titan and it loves 162sst and 2209....

While my tikka and other mates remington prefer 140gr and 2208.....

No chrono so couldnt tell you speed.

Had a play with 150gr long range accubonds. Hit pressure at 41gr 2208 (didnt get pressure until 43gr with 162gr amaxes which is where speeds became erratic and saw signs on brass.
just a point of interest of how pressures vary between projectiles. Best load for amaxes was 41gr lrabs looking like 40gr
