    Reloader 23 or 26, 145 eldx or 140 berger vld in 270?

Has anyone used either reloader 23 or 26 in a 270 and what speeds/accuracy were you achieving?

Looking at loading either 145grn eldx or 140 grain vld hunters in the 270 using federal 215 primers (that's all I have) and reloader 23 or 26?

Thoughts on where to start in terms of charge weight or any ther suggestions? Leaning towards reloader 23 as it was a great powder in my 7mm rem mag.

edlx are the buisness in 270win, they are a little harder than the Bergers which is handy if driven fast and you are closer, I have loaded both pills in 270win and both were easy to get shooting well with good velocity but I used ADI2213sc
I believe @Ryan_Songhurst had good success using RL23 in 270win

I loaded RL26 with them but settled on Hodgdon superproformance as it gave the same speed and is easier to get.
Was getting just short of 3000fps with both powders from memory.

Reloder 23 is secret sauce for the 270. I'd have to find my reloading notebook to confirm charge weights but easy peasy over 3000fps in a 24" Kimber with the 145

Have you looked in the reloder manual? Should be able to figure some starting points from there.

145gr eldx over the 140gr bergers.
Reloder 26 had really good velocity but still wasn't as good as superformance accuracy wise in a Tikka. However may well be in your rifle.

A couple of years ago for my 270W I worked up load with RL23 shooting Hornady ELD-X 145 gn. This was in a Sako, 1:10 twist True Flite barrel 24 inch barrel, Remington brass, Federal 210 Primer, COAL 88.00 mm ( 3.464 inches ). The RL23 charge was 57.00 gns. It gives MV a bit under 3100 fps.
It shot well out to 300 yds but beyond that was erratic suggesting to me bullet stability issues.
I no longer use this load however as I worked up another, much better, with AR2209 and the same bullet for around 2940 fps, that shoots really well out to 400 yds.

Thanks for the responses so far some great info.

This rifle is going to be used mainly in the 200‐500m range so a slightly softer projectile probably wouldn't matter too much.

Ryan, if you had the chance to have a look at your notes I'd be keen to know how much powder you had in that load. I still wish I bought that 270 off you a couple of years ago.
