If you use a balance beam scale and stand to reload, mount a seperate shelf at eye level to put the scale on. Stops any variation in reading the scale if it is "eye balled" from the same position every time.
As an alternative I use an old video camera, one with a small screen that opens up from the side. Then you are always viewing the scales from the same height and angle and you can zoom in.
How does fluro light interfere with scale accuracy?
It's thought they can cause interference with scales electrics. Done a bit of reading, and the opinions are pretty mixed. I guess if you have very sensitive scales it may affect them more.
