In the weekend I was doing a bit of playing with gongs....with mixed results, all the charts needed a little tweaking but one was miles out... Not sure why
The SAUM was on first hit 4-6-780 but not quite center of plate but didn't take much to sort that
but the 300RUM running the 168 Amax @3380 was well out, flatter shooting.... Is it possible the extra speed has them slipping through the air better than their BC?
I have never had the numbers out so far and I can't quite see why... If I fudge the BC and speed I can get there but I have to change them more than I would have thought I should to get it to match..
What do you guys get for drop with a 100 zero, 2" scope height, 1:13 twist 26" barrel, SIII 8-32 scope that has matched charts with other loads..
From memory Altitude was 168 mtrs- 400 level, line of sight 7 deg at 600 and 12 deg at 780, temp 17deg C What other info do you want?
Dry conditions with a tail wind at 400 abut 5 knots (measure 3.5 but definitely stronger down range), 5 O clock about 10-15++ knots for 600 , and 7 O clock 10 knots 780... No flags put up of measurements taken up the gullies so winds are approx, 2-3.5 wind dialed at 600 as the wind changed to keep it on the gong and try for center... a good challenge in those changing winds ( never missed the 600 but center was not full of hits)
