Thread: Seeking 100 large rifle primers

It is a right mess. I'm getting into reloading for two reasons, firstly to learn, to get better at distance and secondly to overcome shortages by creating my own. It doesn't solve the second problem though with primers being very hard to get and powder more difficult.

Have you tried Reloading Direct in Hamilton? They were showing primers in stock the other day when I looked

you have two fellas who have both offered to send you 100 ....thats you sorted ,much thanks to the fellas doing so is needed.... GOOD ON YA fellas.

Just had a look for large rifle and magnums, all cleared out at reloading direct. Thanks though.

gunworks have Federal Large Rifle Magnum Primers (Stock #215) in stock and say they will send north and south island excluding PO box and rural

At a cost of $25 on top for freight. But if you need them you need them.......

Good to see they changed their tune as they weren't sending them over the straight for quite a while

Thanks Charlie, I am dispatching a family member to try and collect some on my behalf. Hope he can get there in time. North island seems plucked dry..

Trademe 100$ for 100 federal 210 and people are buying them and in usa it's only 80nz $ for 1000 bugger me .

How many people out there are sitting on a few thousand 210s or 215s and thinking hmmmm....flick a couple of packets off and get that new piece of kit that I could never really justify/afford.

Must be a few people thinking that mate. I've got next to nothing left about 100 large rifle and no small or magnum left. But I'm not going to buy any ill just use the ammo I have and hope things settle back down.

Rifle primers in the USA remain in short supply currently. Some suppliers are selling at fair prices but there's also quite a lot of primers offered on websites at inflated prices, which are also selling. Buyers feeling they have no option are paying those ridiculous prices ( in some instances even higher than here ). Of course they hate that, as much as any of us do, and want normailty restored.

What happened to the Expansion brand of primers that were supposedly coming here this year? SR early 2023.
