    Short Barrelled 6.5x47 or 260?

What speeds are people getting with 130's or 140's out of 18" or 20" barrels.

Hmmm, Dougie might be able to offer some numbers on that soon enough, her 260 build is just about done apparently.

I'd almost put money on her having touched off a ton of rounds within a week of getting it!

    Ray.
10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

Yes I have a Gunworks can but I have used it without the can bush hunting. There's quite a POI difference with it on/off

    I'm getting 2950 fps with 123 am in a 6.5*47 with a 24" bbl and same veloc form a 6.5 Super LR with a 22" bbl.

2650 from the 6.5*47 with 140's, and havnt tried the 140's in the 6.5 SLR.

I'd be supprised if you get more than 2600 out of 140's with a 19-20"

2810/140gr at "slightly too hot" with 20", same speed with same load in 24"

Now estimate 2740-2760 with 1.2gr less powder and zero pressure signs on case. Estimate only.

Why would you hobble it with 140's?

Just have a look at outdoorlad's numbers gimp. Turning a good horse into a dray.
If you want to run the heavier bullets then why wouldn't you put them in front of a case that can drive them.

Because inside the distance that the lighter bullets are faster, they all work, and the heavier ones (if you use a good one like an Amax) catch up pretty fast.
