I have a real fascination with the 12lrab. Very keen to try it out in my 260. Reckon I could get about 2800 which would be plenty given the low speed they expand but funnily enough my 2 loads are for eldms and gamekings which are both really hard to leave behind as they perform extremely well on game
Great Thread @Flyblown, interesting as.
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Very interesting info here well done.
Great info in this thread

I've used the 160gr tmk in my 7mmcreed on goats and fallow out to 725meters, they work mint.
Big fan of the 162gr Eld-M &A-max used out to 602 meters in my 7mm08 bushpig

As an addition to this thread I've found the .270win 130gr Sierra Gamekings driven at about 2900-3000 as is about typical for factory loadings can be quite explosive in both deer and goats but are very good killers as a result. Straight lung shots tend to sit a goat down immediately even without hitting any real bone. If bone is hit, they'll penetrate and generally exit but it's a horror show once they've hit something hard.
Hornady interlock on the other hand tends to hold together a bit more but weirdly the last deer we shot with one of those was at about 200m on a yearling with a classic through both shoulders shot and it didn't exit - expect it stopped somewhere in the off side bone or skin.
There’s a YT channel I follow that is doing some cool stuff - Frontline Rejects:

Pretty sure I’ve posted this before but no harm giving them another punt.
Whilst we can argue forever on the choice of bullet catching medium (water), the methodology is the same every time which is what you need for objective comparison.
Check out the performance of some of the bonded lead core copper jacked bullets. The Norma bullets in particular.
Meateater also did a pretty cool video recently. The only caution to this is that if you’ve been watching them since forever like me, you’ll remember which bullet they were endorsing which unsurprisingly is their pick from the test results. Nonetheless, the quality of the test is probably as good as it gets visually.
Just...say...the...word
Here is a 180gr Hornady interlock 3070 i sectioned and then melted the lead.

A bit more bang is better.
Still a great thread to read through
