I wouldn’t take what Sierra say as gospel, more of a “let’s cover our arses” type recommendation. I loved the Sierra 1345 in my .223, mushrooms beautifully at .222/.223 velocities in deer, and yet is marketed as part of their varminter range.
    More meplat, more better.

A very well known local Hawkes Bay hunter thats been around a fair while and shoots many times more deer than the average hunter would, used 120gr Pro Hunters in a 260 rem almost exclusively for years IIRC. They work very well

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

    OK, what is EBRG?

Suposedly, you need to be so close that you can put the barrel in the ear of your target.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

We don't have one. Three isn't one.
