so..just because I CAN ASK....and we have members who can answer ..... the 6.5-06 must just about cream them both??? or at least be on par ,so the only practical advantage is ????shorter action length???

The 7mm saum on the left will spit out a 168 grain pill at the same speed as the prc with a 147

6.5 RWS 6.5 Rem Mag or Weatherby RPM

Mark and Sam did a feature on comparing 6.506AI vs 6.5 Saum. Same barrel, powder load, case capacity. Saum smoked the 06 with the only explanation that Sam could find was a more efficient case at a guess.
My own thought is that with heavier bc bullets the 06 needs a really long barrel, but that is only a guess

The saum has an inch more rifling as the ammo is an inch shorter

So more velocity

True, but the Saum was 200 fps ahead with the same charge
