    Tikka T3 .270 reloading

Anyone out there reload for a Tikka T3 in .270?

Ive aquired some dies ( and have access to a mates press etc) but im not sure where to go next.

My aim is a relatively accurate hunting load.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated

RichieRich, when I had my standard T3 I used Hornady 140SST's at 3060fps into .3 MOA using federal brass, CCI large rifle magnum primers and RL22 powder.
    Work up your load safely.

Im pretty keen on this subject too. Went to 200m range the other day to discover my old hand loads are falling rather quickly so a new, flat accurate round will be great.
Ive heard people liking the Hodgdon v100. Had a hunting buddy have issues with SST at long range as if fragmented too quickly and didn't penetrate enough. He now uses the Hornady Interbond pills. Same BC as SST but holds together and retains mass nicely.

I use 140 Nosler ABs with 51.5 grn of 2209. Fed 210 primers in norma brass. Mild load at 2720 fps but accurate as shit.
Still got standard T3 barrel length 21.75 Inch. Could go faster no doubt but anything within 500 is doomed so why bother

For the past 4 years i have been running 130gr Nosler Accubonds with 56gr AR2209 through my T3. I get 1/2" - 3/4" Groups all day long at 100m. kills like the animal have been hit with a sledge hammer too.

Also had very very very good accuracy (1/4" @ 100m) with 130gr Sierra Gameking BT's and RL22. As I have a good stockpile of Accubonds I haven't used the GK's for anything other than at the range.

Both loads use CCI 200LR primers and cheap Federal Brass (Used Federal factory ammo for yeas so had a good supply of cases, seems to work fine after a bit (lot) of case prep).

AR2213SC is also another good .270 powder.
