    tracer ammo

    was thinking about getting some tracer ammo and pulling the projectiles and replacing them with a soft point of some kind does anyone do this

    What cal, how cheap is it, corrosive primed, brass boxer primed or berdian ????????????

    Heard of a guy pulling FMJ's from military surplus, and replacing them with SP's.
    Same sort of thing you're suggesting.
    He found the hunting projectiles were more accurate than the military stuff.
    He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

    You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
    Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

    Don't want to save cases as the SKS throws them a long way and they are hard to find in long grass

    Tracer is corrosive primed, it's enough fun as is. With the chromed bore and piston the only place Ive got rust specs is in the gas port cup on the barrel so now I hot water rinse after using it. My go to hunting ammo is Barnal sp 3-3 moa is all I expect from the sks and it puts stuff down much better than the privy in my opinion.

    Thanks for the replys there's lots of cheap ammo just wondering about putting better projectiles in for better acurracy
