For you Tararua Phil please remember that, in spite of your thread has gone, if you can find a place to zero your rifles at 100 m for the 7.62 x 39 and 150 to 200 m for the .308 all will be good.
    Happy Hunting.
Yea my bad, shouldn't make posts after having a few drinks. Forgot to do the maths correctly regarding Coriolis effect, but you got the general idea i guess.

True i guess but does the trick out of a 16" barrel alright. 1976 goats, mostly bush shooting, over a period of 5 years havn't complained too much.

I got curious enough to figure out the drift on a vmax 55gn doing 3100fts and it looks like maybe .25moa so 16cm at its transonic point 570m (ish)?
The coriolis to my understanding could go either way depending on your orientation. Like if i shot directly north then i could take maybe half of that spin drift off (leaving 8cm). But if i shot due south i would be adding it eh. So 24cm to allow for.... these .223 are a freakin headache haha. Name: Screenshot_20200105-070405_Applied Ballistics.jpg
