    That's a good question @Gibo I was told just use whatever it says for the weight so 150 g is use 150 from the book for your powder type don t worry about the projectile type just build up to best load.. ???

    Its what I have been doing but got pulled up by a mate when looking at a monolithic in the book when my pill wasn't.

    Bullet types but dont use barnes data for say a iterbond or something.
    Barnes generally need more powder for the same bullet weight to get the same pressure as a conventional and hence are generally faster too.
    As always work up and find max then back off.

    I've owned a couple of 700 270s, a 22" and currently a 24" barrel. Both rifles shot most accurately with that 140BTSP in front of 60gn N165, clocked around 2940. Last two 3-shot groups at 200M went 14mm and 28mm. My 24" model doesn't seem any faster than the 22" barrel(bah!).

    thanks for help guys i have sourced a pdf of the lyman 48th edition which has the same data as what was displayed here from the 49th edition that toby and vc shared the data from
