    Greetings,
Buying old powder that you don't know the history of is a dangerous practise. AR2206 will now be 20 plus year old. Surely you can find a new powder that will do the job for you. AR2206 is a tick faster than AR2206H so if space is a problem then BM8208 or BM2 could be worth looking at. I would be interested to know why you would want any AR2206. There is not much reliable data for it.
    Regards Grandpamac.

Agree with GPM re using a modern equivalent but having said that I have enough 2206 left to load another 139 rounds for my old Sako Forester on the odd times I get it out of the back of the safe and dust it off.

I have all the old ADI data manuals and I originally purchased the 2206 new so I know its condition. Once its gone I'll just change over to 2208, as used in my other 308s.

Running 42.5 with a very slightly heavier projectile than @omark example.

Still run it in my short barreled 243 with 85 Barnes, will go with 2206H when finished.

ADI still publish data for 9.3x57 and a few other europeans using 2206 as the only powder.
I have a tin of it and when it's gone 2206h will replace it but with a slightly heavier charge.

It also comes in recent style ADI plastic containers, not just the steel tins.

    Greetings again,
A few years back I did some comparative chronographing with AR2206 and AR2206H. The loads used new Winchester cases and Federal F210 primers with 44 grains of AR2206 or AR2206H powder. The rifle was my old 1975 vintage Rem 700 .308 with a 510mm (20 inch) barrel. All the loads were shot in the same session. Velocity was 2,698 fps for AR2206 and 2,674 fps for AR2206H. Only two shots for each load were fired and there was one called flier with the AR2206H loads. The other 3 loads all cut the inner ring on the NZDA 50 metre target I was using. Food for thought. An extra 0.5 grains of AR2206H would have matched the AR2206 velocity.
    Regards Grandpamac.

My bad. This was with 150 grain Hornady Interlock projectiles. With 125 grain Speer TNT velocities for BM8208 and AR2206 were very similar with 47 grains of each. around 2,940 fps.
