    Will this buff out?

Iv found two sticks with a dent much like this do I bin them or will a light load push it back out again? 2 out of 100 both look the same has me stumped be a hell of a coincidence if iv dropped them and dented them in the same place it’s just about the middle of the shoulder not on either junctions

Any chance there was a bit of crap in the chamber when those 2 were fired?

I doubt it because I’d have felt it chambering they look to be dropped onto stones just because of the little scratches in the center of the dent I’m no saint I drop my brass plenty it is very odd though

Did they appear after being resized? If so that can happen if there’s a bit to much lube on the case/dirty die and they’ll pop out at the next firing.

That might be the money! I didn’t actually give the case a good inspection before hand to be able to confirm. It is possible because their new to me but second hand dies and the first few cases were abit of a dog to run threw and came out pretty dirty and one of these dented cases was definitely in the first couple I sized because I spotted it when I put it in the tray I didn’t find the other until I was inspecting them before priming thanks for that

Give your die a good clean, some sort of solvent/CRC type of aerosol usually works. Blow it out with compressed air, or pull your die to pieces and wipe it out. Load those 2 cases up, they will fireform back to size no problem.

My guess is too much lube or dirty dies, you can firing them without issue and they'll be back to normal, maybe take care if its a hot load.

I dented a whole bunch of cases when reloading the night before a shooting match a few years back, used the dented ones on close range targets and saved the good ones for longer distances, didn't notice any difference.

Too much lube in FL die

Use less lube on the necks next time and it won’t build up in the die

    The dent disappears after firing

Yip I’m guessing their was lube in the die as it was noticeable for the first couple firings

Too much lube. Fire it to reform. Nothing wrong with it
