    Zero reloading press

Hiya All, anyone lashed out & bought a Zero press yet?
Any thoughts, other than which kidney to sell to fund it?

Seen them on the likes of F Class John vids. Beautiful press. As I'm not into multi station presses though it would never grace my bench and of course are419 with all their stuff want both kidneys.

Mate imported one about 3 years ago, stopped shooting before it arrived and sold it on arrival. Its a solid piece of equipment.

The reality is the press is not the basic fundamental awnser to accurate loads.
For how much they cost I would put that money to an amp annealer.
Some thing that makes a difference to accuracy and brass life.
You can make 1/4 moa accurate ammunition on a basic lee press.
It's just nice to have good gear not essential.

    Yep already got an AMP.
Currently using rock crusher's, my question is from the perspective of having dies set up semi-permanently, & using the turret. It feels like a step backwards to go to a Redding or Lyman turret, is the Zero that much better than other turret presses?

    Thanks,

Watched x-ring on Youtube last night. He was extrolling the feature of the 9 station head meaning he could have 3 different cartridges of dies all set up ready to go.
It is undoubtably a very good press with the use of lots of bearings to eliminate any slop. It is also huge and my current desk wouldn't easily accomodate it.
Plus I use a Co-Ax and I can change dies in a fraction of a second.

I notice the Zero press has a fixed shellholder alignment whereas my Forster has a self aligning shellholder feature.

But like all reloading gear purchases, if someone desires something, go for it. I've certainly been guilty of buying very expensive gear that probably only marginally performs better than cheaper alternatives. Why have I lashed out? Because I can now afford too whereas once I had to do everything on a budget. Life is too short.

They're just over $1K US, but plus freight, GST, gotta be $2K NZ + a bit maybe?
But very similar to Zimmers Forster Co Ax in US dollars?

Of course then there's all the other bits to go with it!

Yup, you have to have their dies etc etc. There goes your second kidney.

Area 419 has a special on atm. Best rush in. But b4 you do here's what you will pay for gst. No duty but IETF fee still to be added. Area 419's quoted freight is a killer as well
