    58gr Vmax out of a 243

Rather than spend up on a dedicated varmint rifle, I am considering using the 243 for longer range bunnys etc.
Only a cheapo marlin, but it shoots fine with 80 and 85 gr.
Barrel twist is 1;10 I believe. Would that twist rate suit a 58 Vmax ??

They should work fine, I have shot them in my .243 BLR,
I run the 65 gr v-max in my 6mm Remington, stiff load of h4895, and have same point of impact at 200m as I get with 85 gr partion,
Good option, but it prefer the 65-75 g as seam to handle the wind better,

Why not just use your current load?

Run 105gr and aim for them at 600y. But as above why not use the same load. Both will cause almost as much mess

I was quietly hoping that there may be some dog tucker left when using the lighter pill.

Not using that one there wont be, the only reason to use light for caliber vmax is to explode small furry things so all that remains is a pinky red smudge

If that is the case, it sounds way too much fun not to try it.

87g V-Max will be a good all rounder. The 105 might struggle in a 1:10? They're cheap, kill well and I've had good success getting them to shoot.

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

My remmie 700 in 243 didn't like them but I'm using nosler 55gr BTs in it instead and she loves them. 44.7 gr of AR2208. Comes out at 3690fps.

    this is a 5rd group at 100m

Whilst in the gun shop in motueka today, I grabbed a box of the Winchester 55gr ballistic tips to try out.
Didn't even sight in with them, but first shot was freehand at a ranged 175 yds Result
