Anywhere to sell dead bunnies in TGA

    Hi team,
Do a bit of bunny shooting at a friends and hoping to replenish the ammo cupboard by selling the dead rabbits.. I know there’s a place in Whakatane that uses the meat for dog food and rabbit fur, think about $1each.
Any chance there’s someone/place similar in TGA that buys also? Would prefer not to do the hour drive.

    Cheers

Try out of the wild pet food katikati.
Might have to do some paper work to comply before selling though.

Chilled/frozen within four hours, gut, intestine n anus out. Feet n head off.

Landowner declaration which includes a poison summary.

    There’s a test to sit.

    Head/neck shots or trapped.

So after all the work what's the $ like?
Had the thermal out last night shooting big grass eaters and then shot some hares with the 3006.
    Bloody spectacular explosions!
My mate hadn't used them before and loved it.
Not much left to skin though.
Going to plant quite a few natives so going to put thermal on the 204.
No point ducking down in the long grass then!

All that red tape for dog food (the stinkyier and rotten the better seems to be my dogs motto), not like they are heading for a restaurant....

I wouldn’t want to try n make a living off it. If being paid to shoot it’s not bad. I look at it as compulsory saving. You get a chunk of cash to spend on whatever. Usually for me it goes back into ammo, gear, petrol/diesel or something extra for kids/wife.

I know. It’s a bit bizarre. Is what it is though…

Yes there’s paperwork and compliance that’s over the top but if your out shooting anyway it’s not that hard to clean up the kills to the standard required. I think it’s bloody good to see the guy turning pests into a business.

Years ago in England I was gamekeeper , any rabbits in season went to the local game dealer or I sold to the butcher for 1 pound each helped a very poor wage
