Hi if your trap hasn’t realeased after smacking the possum it will be because the battery is flat.
Catches over the last few months. Using rabbit or possum legs.
Doing the natives a big favour there Billy
Obviously didn’t stop to read the notice..
2 on that line today.

Probably wrong forum to ask but genuine questions here,
I have rodent issue & feral cats in the bush,
My possum traps caught rodent every other week & I know there are few feral hiding in the there,
would you eliminate the feral cats or let them control the rodent population?
Eliminate the cats and watch the bird population explode .

Then work on the rats

My vote also for eliminate the cats.
Those Steve Allen 'the beast' traps that Carol at dead rat stocks are very effective on cats. Cage traps are also good but require regular checking.
Get stuck into em

Some amazing pictures of predators (cats and stoats) Guys – I wish I could catch a few but all we see at present is empty traps – around 200 checked over about 70 acres in the last few days and not a sign of an animal anywhere – just 5 rats during July. @sore head stoat sent me a message yesterday with an amazing picture of a high-country stoat – he has asked me to post the picture and story for him -
My mate and myself headed up in the high country to check a trap line that I run up there. A couple of weeks ago I had replaced the eggs and other baits that I use in the traps so I was feeling full of expectation that we may have caught something. The 7th trap in and we had a freshly caught weasel. Another 3 traps further on and we had a stoat then 6 more traps and we caught our white stoat. I have caught stoats in winter with plenty of white on them but not with a pure white body like this one. We went on to catch 1 more stoat and 10 rats.
Thanks for sharing that special picture @sore head stoat
Thank you for posting the photo time out . Sorry fellas , I am a techno dinosaur. I usually catch 1 a year that will have patches of white on it but to get a pure white bodied one was a wee bit special. Unfortunately it had been in the trap a few days and was not suitable for a taxidermy job.
Cool as !! I would have been tempted to skin and tan it

Bloody inspiration people! Well done!
That looks like a nice pussy!
Last night, driving back to my whare, a Woolshed, I passed a large ferret going the other way on a one lane bridge! WTF! Next week, and inspired but the above posts, I'm going to set four DOC200 traps, two at each end of the bridge. Does anyone know where I can get some rabbit for bait!
