Correct me if Im wrong. Its the Dama up north and the Tama around Waimate right?.

As for the set up yeh its pretty good Gen2+ & Gen3 PVS-7 Goggles. Kite night sight in not sure... either Gen2 or early EEV Gen3.
Photos are of my 15yr old son, He just thinks thats how you hunt and isn`t it that way for everyone. This trip was for some shooting practice for him with the nightscope as the rifle set up is around 11 pounds weight, Want him used to it before he starts shooting deer with it.

Not the sort of gear you buy over the counter at Hunting & Fishing or Hammils..........

On kawau island in the hauraki gulf too, lived there till I was five there was a trapping program in which they were sending them back to aussie because of the pure breed.

Every morning I get to work the tracks are just littered with their little bird feet prints.

Yep a hell of alot better than the battery & spotlight............ Been there done that... Primitive!!! That said the night gear is a bloody sight more expensive than a battery and light. Depending on the situation and how lightshy what your hunting is you probably still do quite well with the Battery and light. That scope the boy is useing would have been about $16`000 in the day when it was new.

Oh thats interesting. Had always thought they were Tama. Do know this though (don`t ask how) they make bloody great pets !!!
The kids love having a kangaroo following them around. Unfortunatly he died a few years ago. The coolest pet we have ever had.
