An evening date with the little 223

This evening I went on a date with the little 223 and we had a bit of fun on some bunnies.

It was very windy challanging conditions so I had to get a good rest and squeeze the trigger in between wind gusts, I must say its great using good gear.

I put on the spotlight after shooting my first rabbit right on dusk then headed around the hills shooting from gully to gully averaging over 100 meters, it was awesome cranking the Z5 up to full power and nailing head and neck shots.

I thought I would try to burn up the not so accurate ammo (55gr factory SP's) however they proved to be anything but inaccurate as I dropped 18 from 19 shots and I got the one I missed with a follow up shot.

If you don't like blood and guts then don't read any further as I have posted a few pic's of the evening

The last one was shot with a 69gr TMK.

It was a good night with ammo that didn't group so well on paper but did the business.

    Thanks for reading

    Cheers

Nice hunt, just too much damage on the carcasses with 223, Do you have picture of using FMJ, assume FMJ may do less explosion...?
    So be it

No I don't have any FMJ projectiles sorry. Yes plenty of damage but the 223 sorts out those pesky rabbits that sit just outside the range of the 22 laughing at you as you try to approach and then they run off just as you get within range.
The 223 wiped the smile off the little buggers faces when the extra powerful misile took them out unexpectedly.

They know their safety range, knowledge passed from generation to generation. We have different perspective for rabbit hunting, I am not farmer thus only thinking about the fun part.
