This all started out when I received a txt from a mate…”boss has just told me he needs some pest control down around some new native planting. I said you’d be up for it..” “Yep no worries” I replied “ how about tomorrow night..!”(Friday night)
This was to be more of a armed reconnaissance than a full on shoot. Just as well. I made sure my spotlights were charged up….then left one behind..
Show up at mates place. Tells me where to go. Was going to be a bit tricky as hadn’t been in this part of the farm before, never mind at night time. Did say I’d do the best I can but would need to come back during the day time to suss out terrain n where gates/tracks are(H&S conscious).
Ended up not seeing anything where the plantings were but popped three possums in long established tree areas and two hares. All recovered for dog tucker, cat food n human consumption.
Just as well I wasn’t shooting for commercial pet food as I would have had to reject them all(not just head shots)
Only pic I took
Conclusion. I’ll be back. Bugga aye….
