Well this bastard had a main course of mouse, then fancied peanut butter for dessert. Last thing he ever did. Note how he consumed the entire mouse up to the mouse trap’s bar.

There’s been a real drop off in mouse kill numbers in the last week which is encouraging, but I still wonder if it’s got something to do with conditions. Despite freshly baiting traps every day I had a run of three nights and not a single mouse. All three nights were crystal clear with a very full moon and Mr Ruru and his pal were on patrol from dusk until dawn. Then last evening it clouded over thick and was quite dark, and bobs your uncle, three mice. And a rat.

Yeah. I was expecting some lo tech fire lighting lesson too.

I do wonder if your increase in Mice immediately after the decrease in Rats is related, perhaps they don't cohabitate well?
Yes when the tucker runs low your mice become rat tucker very quickly. So you mouse problem becomes a rat problem , which leads to a wiring problem!

I liked his technique for getting cordage from flax. I've usually just torn long strips and used as they are, but his method you get real string.
