Would have to be the back one to give you more elevation, front mount will make it shoot even lower

OK, so I shimmed up the rear mount with 1 layer of aluminium LOL can (LOL is a kids fizzy drink). only a little change.

So in the spirit of P for plenty I gave it shit and put 2 more layers in, making 3 layers in total .

BINGO !!! It now zeros at 50 yards, with the vertical turret wound up to about half way from it's bottom setting.

    Thanks for your advice guys.

Glad it worked. Even if my advice was a bit back to front. Thanks for the correction Sudattack.

    Nice work on the zero.

Did the rings or bases get changed / installed with the scope as well or just the scope replaced?
Only asking as it almost sounds as if a MOA base etc was reversed ?? esp if needing to shim the scope up...
    Just curiosity asking here!

Yeah, me too. I'd already figured out you had it arseabout, was just figuring how to say it diplomatically when Sudattack saved me the job.

But anyway it's saved me from having to sell the scope, which is a nice one.

I zero/sight in at 15m. Perfect out to normal .22LR hunting ranges. Get it on paper, then use the bullet hole as point of aim. Have done this for over 30 years. Try it. You'll like it.

first rule, ditch the dovetail mount use a weaver type base/rings.
then get a trigger job done !
