I used it when i had a 250, shot 7 or 8 fallow one sika and a couple of reds, they all died quick.
One red was a mature hind through the shoulder and had holes through both shoulder blades.
Not a very big sample size but I never used it much hence why I dont have it anymore

The 70 grain Speer will stabilize in a 14" twist, and they are a fantastic bullet for deer. I shot the biggest red of my life with one, and would still be using them if I hadn't got interested in looooong range.

As a bonus, they shot to the same poi as the 55 vmax I used for varminting.

Took the rifle out today after bore sighting it and the PPU look promising. Last group sub MOA, 1.5 inches high, and at estimated 3400fps should be good out to 250. I’ll put a few of these in my pocket as the fallow deer load for now. Chrono battery was dead so couldn’t check velocity out of the 20inch. Also did a ladder with some reloads which I’ll write in the reloading section

What sort of speed were you running them at, any advice on powder to use. I’ve got a tikka which is 14 twist and picked up some of those speeds a while ago. Cheers

I'm surprised they stabilize I ran them through the green hill formula and came up with them needing a 12 inch twist above 2800 fps and 9 inch below that. I've previously had experience with a 68 grain bt hp that chronied 2950 and produced tight groups at 100 yds but wouldn't get on an a4 sheet at 200 turned out it was marginally stable at launch speed but needed a 1:7 twist below 2800 fps. Rifle was a savage 1:9 223.

That's just about perfect instability if you want tumble on impact lol.

Lol,I've often been told I look at things from a weird perspective. The whole heavier than usual for calibre thing in .223 has really got me thinking. I have a fast and slow rifle in 1:14 twist and inbetween .223 with 1:10... I have loaded up some speer blunts70grn that I'm assured will stabilise in the 1:10....5x Hornady 70grn flat base spitzers that may or may not and 5x 68grn very long hollow points, appear to be some kind of very low drag boattail, maker unknown...I have doubts they will fly straight n not tumble soon after (hopefully after) leaving suppressor. Will be interesting to find out.

Take your suppressor off before you try the 68 grn ones would be my advice.
