    Absolute Stunned Mullet

Right so - I was just out at a little new spot I have found that might prove some bunnies via non-shooting methods..... 9pm, pulled up in the last glimmers of light, I shit you not I heard a deer!!!!!

I am just flabbergasted!!! I looked at Jet and said "No shit bud that's totally not a cow" and he offered no advice. There is heaps of bush around but mainly scrubby stuff, gorce, some more mature Pohutakawa. This is barely 10min drive from the suburbs main center and there are houses surrounding the bush.

Could it really have been a stag????

Heard what I have looked up on youtube as a red deer roar...but have been told by the master himself that this is near impossible for this time of the year!

Trust you to think of that VC. If it was then the bugger probably had his pants down around his ankles, saw Dougie and Jet and thought she might let the dog go so he tried to hide better, backed into a gorse bush and that what caused the moan. Dougie, when you go back to check your snares, scout around a bit and check for sign. If you find cloven hoof prints, deer shit or some winter coat hair then you may be onto something. If you find some wanker stuck in a gorse bush with his pants down around his ankles and is pecker shrivelled from the cold then VC made a bloody good guess.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Went back this morning - there's a lone cow smashing around in the bush. I think there is a farm over the crest of the hill

PS - nothing in the trap. I am going to make MkII today and place it somewhere else.

That would take several trips to carry out Dougie but it would fill the freezer well.
