    Sorry to be a pain beavis but are there any maps that mark the polled route and where its starts. Read somewhere that you can drive to the end of taharua road but looks like its well into poronui? also whats the deal with doc hut tokens will be heading friday night by the looks and wont have a chance to get any can you do them online yet or anything?

    No worries. Follow Taharua Rd till you get to the Porinui gate (don't go through it if it's open lol)... you have to walk the rest of the way. There is a paper road going through Porinui, it in itself is a poled route. Just follow it. You will come to a gate in some scrub just above the river. This is where you leave Porinui and enter Maori land. Follow the track down hill and cross the river. You can't miss the poled route. Unless its at night and foggy... but I put some reflector stickers up when I went through for when it happens to people.

    chur bro will head in there this weekend headed in te iringa not last weekend but weekend before and had some stags single callling but busted by 30knots of swirling sou'wester. Plus im hoping theres some good bush over this side. Looks like i need a mountain bike and just stash the bugga at the river, save me abit of huffing and puffing and afew hours walking.

    Get to the top of it now in just over an hour umukarikari to waipakihi hut has been my favorite walk into the forrest park so far. Cant wait to get into omaru for 3 days
