    probably for the track from the youth camp

    chopper might be looking at gorse or dropping off people etc

    filmed two goats outside the shelter last spring. its a good place but smiths is over hunted. try another hours walk!

    I only go over the puffer for trail running, on the weekends Smiths creek area is madness and I wouldnt even consider it as a hunting option. Theres certainly other areas that are less populated by everyone looking at shooting something. Interesting about the goats, I've seen some good pigs pulled out of there.

    From Feathy, Try Boar Bush Gulley, might even see a deer near the ridge.

    Wow! Can't believe how friendly and open with helpful advice you wellingtonians have been in this thread. I guess if you're local, you get that. Never had anyone even close to helpful in South Auckland/Waikato. :thumbs up:

    tonyr i havnt been in that entrance but have hunted that area. and 7times out of 10 mate it proves fruit full cheers mate
