Spot x book should give you a general location. Be careful around Easter, lots of people in the bush. Good luck and have fun.

As 300wsm says, grab the spot x book. All in all, the book is mediocre, but it is very in depth regarding the Rotorua Lakes for some reason.

Most easily accessible spots around Rotorua (Tarawera, Okataina, Mamaku etc) will be busy over the Easter period. Not just hunters but fishermen, walkers, mountain bike riders, Green party supporters etc will all be competing for the same space.

Your probably better off getting in the car for an hour and heading towards Galatea/Urewera area.

Yeh busy alright so be bloody careful.

I’d head into the Urewera mate. I spent the night last night and still roaring well.
