I started keeping records by writing on the back of maps when with the Forest Service and then diaries.
My first ever records started when about 15yrs old, writing on the back of early pics at first until the habit wore off.
I don't bother today but do take the odd pick for the grankids. At one stage I had 10 diaries, not big thick buggers mind you.I have around one and a bit thousand pics from black and whites, slides to modern colour etc.
I have a dead ego lol and would never put up animal kills for the world to see, that to me has mostly been personal.
It is good to see guys keeping a diary, when you get to my age and older,if your lucky,it can be great to look back.l

Hopefully my pup trains me enough for next winter in the forestry block

I have had a bit of a quiet one this year been way to bloody busy, took two days off for Tobys shoot in October and that's the only me time I have had since May, shot a couple Chamois earlier in the year and that's been my lot. I'm really beginning to have second thoughts about this self employed business...

I’m hopeless at keeping a diary, but after doing paperwork at work the last thing I want to do is more on the weekends
I just go hunting but that sounds like a New Years Resolution right there.....

Ditto, normally screen shoot a map on iPhone then send it to mumsy, discribe intentions etc

Then tell her to delete it when I get home after trip!!!!
Her reply 'who will I show it to', better safe than sorry

    Keep a diary as well
Hunts are down this year, due in part getting duck fever
    Counting up coming Kaweka walkabout
12 hunts, 28 days in bush

Saw a few, lucky enough to shot some, mr 8pt is still growing bigger for me.

But the best part is getting out there, good times with some good mates!!

Diary is a must have, just don't let mumsy set it

2018 is going to have more time spent bush, I hope.
SNAP.....just change the parrie for a grey.....and 2 days for 6.....will get much more in next year, my hunting buddy had family health concerns that put hunting on the backburner, and i have a promise to the missus not to hunt alone

Quiet year on all species for me. 14 pheasants, 26 ducks, 3 quail plus two unrecovered in pine slash, 4 reds, one whitetail.

Have kept a diary for a while now. I found it really improved my pheasant hunting no end in terms of time spent, time of day etc. Really shrunk my hours per bird ratio.

NZDA HUNTS instructors need to report a hunting diary each year specially for leading trips, teaching and range officering. Gives them an idea what sort of experience base they have available.

Good to see people writing intentions notes for those at home.
