Am I the only one who records their feelings and writes poetry in their hunting diary...?
Shit, I thought I was normal.

My OCPD somewhat exposed. Yes, at least half a page minimum for every hunt, tramp, and flyfishing trip. Dating back to the late '70s when I was a nipper. Routes taken through the bush, weather & wind direction, deer seen and where, cartridge and bullets used, trip companions, rivers fished, water and overhead conditions, all fish taken, flies used, huts & bivs visited... the list just goes on and on. Plus a matching catalogue of photos and video for each trip. Some of the longer and more memorable trips have 5-6 pages in story form. This just touches on my record-keeping obsession. Did I mention a photographic record of every shot I've fired at the range ?
... yup, freed up by having written 1360 less forum posts than you

I just keep reminders in my work phone for the fun times of the year- "apply for leave the whole month of October" ...."first two weeks of April"
I used to keep a diary on how many animals I would see and shoot, I don't really bother now. I am out 3-4 times a week and see animals 80% of the time anyway.
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
