Yep taco would be dumb to turn down an opportunity like this that clearly demonstrate the ruggedness of their product.

Hunting is relaxing just like Yoga except I get to kill something.

Might pay to sight it in before using it on a hunt.
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

The original Tascos were made in Japan and were not too bad at the time. Circa 1965.

Yes your are right Tahr, the Tasco World Class for the money were a good buy with a life time warranty, the Tasco Proghorn were not on the so good side.
There wasn't any bones with that rifle?
NZ has lost a few hunters over the years and never found.

The old tasco's from a few decades ago were good gear. Not so sure about the modern versions.

ok could you not be getting self in poohs n wees by leaving a firearm in a hut?????
even old and in disrepair taking it home and making enquiries may have been better option.

Thought did cross our mind and we chucked the idea around and at the last minute decided against it.
It is rusted solid and barrel choked right up.
I was not to keen to take it on a Chopper that had my ass in it.
Put it up high in the A frame in the hut rafters.
It is also not a public hut and is only used by hunters.
    Love walking my gun

Back in the days quite a few cullers believed that a cheaper brand of scope was more practical at the end of the day. They got the shit hammered out of them, especially on Thar work and like a bic lighter they were discarded when poked. It was cheaper to buy another scope rather than replacing an expensive one.
The early Tasco was quite popular. Eventually down the line and when the pocket was bulging the money was spent on a much classier scope.

That thing was no more a firearm than a rusty club, I think you will be fine.
