soooooo its time for me to hit the hills again after the summer madness at work, planning on heading out for 2-3 days mid next week if anyone is keen for a bit of a mission?

Is this a good time of year?? I'm planning a trip for 2019. Maybe late Jan/early Feb, but I can bump it to March also. Looking at mostly the South Island. Might get up north, but only for 2-3 days of sight seeing.

Are you available for mid week trips or do you have to book in annual leave?

I'll be up that way later this week - weather permitting. Will come out on Sunday the 11th and looking to do some more fishing (canals) and hunting from the 12th.

Now semi-retired so I've got all the time I want - and it is ~500km drive from Invercargill so I'm trying to make the most it while up there - Tekapo area.
