Hearing some chatter that a really good head was taken on Stewart Island recently......anyone on here know of it, and/or have pics?

    Cheers

Not mine..... Have heard it was taken on the open block not far from town, likely to break a few records

    Holy crap, thats a monster!
I bet the hunter had a case of buck fever trying to line that one up.

It's a huge whitetail for the island, I'm sure others here can vouch that it's "average" by American standards.

I have only heard "3rd hand rumours" but it was a tourist that comes here regularly, set his trail cameras, put up a fly spent the time out there (has been some shitty weather for fly camping) came back into town, went back out and an hour later got picked up by the taxi with it

Your 3rd hand rumours are not to far off! Wouldn't call myself a tourist though, was there to hunt!
Don't set up trail cameras but a mate did once on a trip there 4 years ago.
Yes I set up a fly camp & yes the 48 hours before I shot it was some of the worst hunting conditions weather wise I've ever encountered anywhere.
Yes I walked back out for a night to dry out & warm up, and then shot the buck next morning hunting my way back into camp but no it wasn't an hour later I was picked up again, was later in the day.

And yes it will be the new No.1 buck to come off the Island.
