Some of the best heads have come out of Tramways over the years. Lovely wee gully. Just hard to draw as it weekend only.

Yep, she's a great wee block. Had some good hunts through there in 79 but stopped balloting for it by the mid 80's and other blocks that are easy to get in and out of as the number of poachers went through the roof - just too scary for me to feel safe. I hope that situation has changed for the better.

Much better these day @bing The forest roads are all locked up and each Friday the gate codes gets changed, you need to be the permit holder to get the code. Not perfect as some clowns like to "share" the code, leave gate unlocked for their mates, or damage the padlock. Still the situation is waaaay better than when I started hunting the Blueys about 15 years ago....really needed traffic lights to control all the spot lighting poachers!!! Seeing more deer on the road that's for sure.

Yes on the private bush land adjacent to the public block. Much nicer bush on the mountain side...

When I was in there last had a encountered with poachers....

I was walking up the packers faces on dark when a volley of shots went off very close by and seemingly in my direction. I suspect they were fired from the road above onto the faces, bit unnerving to say the least.

Got up to the truck and could see headlights slowly going towards Rd 100. As soon as I turned my headlights on they turned theirs off. Wasn't particularly too keen to try and find them and confront them.

When I got to the locked gate I found the lock sitting on the ground ready for a quick exit. Made sure it was well locked as I left.

I Probably should have reported it but figured pretty hard for anyone to catch up with them unfortunately.

@Hunty1 I've had some similar experiences, but a lot less in recent years. The forest company have some pretty sophisticated monitoring tech in there now, and the will likely follow up given the level of blatant stupidity you describe. Let DOC know, there have been trespass notices issued for this type of thing.
