Funny but bucket lists seem to continue. Like a bottomless coffee I guess.....

    Done:
BC Moose ( without a doubt the highlight for me. Remoteness, where humans are not top of the food chain, rugged terrain, throw 12 days trying to stay on a horse, float plane, reality of taking all meat out from an 700kg animal and carting antlers beyond belief)
Whitetail in Nebraska ( one of the only States a foreigner can buy a tag over the counter)
    Rusa in New Caledonia
Plains game in Southern Africa ( kudu, Nyala ,blesbok, Impala, warthog)
Chital Queensland ( these are a great animal and really doeable from here. A good property and outfitter around the 3k mark)
    Shot a 10” Chamios, 12” Tahr

    On the like to list:

    Sambar
    Bantang
    Sheep ( North American)
    Mountain goat
    Fiordland ballot block

Chital in Oz , a fox as well.

I’m more interested in seeing different country (NZ farming wise) and if opportunity presented itself to take something, I’d go for it.

My list is extensive and all NZ based at this stage
    In this order

Any public land Roar Red Stag
    Fiordland Wapiti
Welcome Flat (My late brothers favorite West Coast spot) Thar or Chamois
    Stewart Island Whitetail
    Greenstone Fallow
    NI Sika

Looking forward to getting stuck in when we are allowed out again, will probably start with Welcome Flat or Stewart Island, not many tourists at either at the moment I'd wager...

@HNTMAD What does a Chatham Islands Hunt cost? Is it guided only? Or is it Pitt Island? Looks an interesting wind sweep place.

This wasnt a guided hunt as such, more about knowing the right people. Would be hard to do without a guide and the know how. Suggest you google Pitt Island Hunting

    For me it is
a fallow buck for the wall
    I wouldn't mind a black face ram
And would like to get back down south a few more times and get out and see new places

Oh yes a Gaur if you still could, my favorite Bovine, I guided on Bantang for some years & they are a very cool smaller Gaur !

If we include unhuntable animals, I would put Tiger up ?

My ultimate bucket list hunt would be a DIY Rocky Mountain Goat hunt. But being realistic about draw odds that might never happen.

More realistic bucket list hunts include:
    - a DIY high country hunt in the US (not too important which species)
    - return to NZ to get to see some other parts of your beautiful country
    - DIY reindeer hunt in Norway (a good friend lives there)
    - ibex hunt in the mountains somewhere close to home

Let's hope for this world to get past these crazy times soon so we can proceed to pursuit our dreams.
