    I was trudging down a back country stream tonight. Stopped for a breather. Thought I was getting looked at . Looked up into the manuka about 15m away was a big red hind. Probably on evening stroll for grass and water. Could have thrown my rod at her but was just too tired. On way up just after midday looked into a gully . Another big red hind feeding. Put its head up then just resumed eating. Nice to see.Amazing how many deer you see without a gun.
