so....are the courts going to demand the huts are rebuilt??? and how will they ensure they not burnt down again????
the way I see it that is the problem....some self entitled folks have decided this is best way to make other folks bugger off out of area..and the other folks cant do bugger all about it... the sooner NEW ZEALAND gets back to belonging to all New Zealanders the better. public land should remain public.... and if ownership is transphered in some quasi feelgood move,the ownership should be silent and the status quo of using said land continue for the good of all KIWIS....

IMO CEO DoC should be prosecuted to the maximum pissible under the law.

Bloody well said Micky Duck. Typical of the way NZ has been heading for a few years now. Pretty sure nothing will happen about this and no way will new ones be built.

Now, the High Court has found the DOC director-general, Te Uru Taumatua and Te Urewera Board acted contrary to Te Urewera Act in allowing the huts to be demolished. hope they loose there jobs .

Potato was our local MP and in all the years we were there we never saw her do anything for the people she was supposed to represent..Worse than useless.....Our local MP now is everywhere and appears to be two places at once most of the time- locally working on getting stuff done and in welly ......
