Ben recommended Mangataramea based on my experience or lack of
Reason I was asking is at some of the old private huts Footyfield, Oamaru, North Arm etc you were, and may still be allowed, to take the electric dog (spotlight)
1st time I took the wife away for a weeks holiday we beat ourselves up bush bashing. Not even getting close. Didn't do much for the wifes impression of hunting. On the flight out found that we were allowed spotlights as it is private land.
The follow year we took a spotlight and saved it till the end of the week. She has enjoyed hunting since
Hi mate, I`m no great shacks on the Sika or the reds but just stalk quietly, like the old Indian said, walk little, look heaps. And if you look at a hilly deer farm the deer are always up high, same in the bush. The comment on hunting into the wind all ways is true, that`s if you can check the wind direction. What I do is get a small plastic container,(old film, pill) with screw top, drill a small hole in the top and then go and pinch some of the wife`s best makeup powder, 2tsp should do it, pop in a small stone, cap on. Now in the bush to check the wind just shake and puff out some powder, but keep your mind on what you are doing, It can make you quite horny have fun, Homebrew.357.
Good tips here guys thanks
