Hi there, does anyone know of anyone that buys a few goats for pet food? Going to knock a few over for meat in the next few weeks, thought maybe there might be a way to get rid of a few extras. Thanks in advance

@MoaHunter will put you in touch
Up here I was getting $1.5 a kg, head off hocked, gutted but pluck still in, at the end of the day it was too much effort what with retrieving them and chilling or freezing.
Hope your experience is better.
Yep, heart lungs liver kidneys still need to be inspected. Pluck is the pommy term. Ops may have let something slip there
Thanks for the replies was just wondering, if you don’t ask the question you will never know. If it’s to much trouble I just won’t bother. About 15 years ago we used to take hares to the shop in Eastgate mall think it was 4 paws pantry, $2.75 a kg maybe times have changed
$40 live if you can get them into a pen for pickup......
times have gone down,,back in mid eighties we were getting between 100 to 200,,mind they do breed fast
oh yes those were interesting times indeed...dodgy characters turning up with big trailer in tow with a HUGE roll of bank notes paying silly money for any live female goat....our pig dogs got beaten for years for even looking at a goat...then it was go catch them....they loved it.one bitch learnt to break front leg the goat stopped running then and she could have a chew....they still bought them..... we came to conclusion after it was all over that it was little more than a huge $$$$$ laundering exercise.
