No luck. Spooked one but didn't get onto anything else. Had a good time though, beautiful area and had some great weather. Some good buggers in the hut there too.

Walked into the Oamaru hut on Friday night and managed to get this Saturday morning there was a yearling with it but I didn't fancy carrying two deer back out

    Brilliant. Well done
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

The hut had a party of 9 in it when we arrived all from the wellington deerstalkers, heaps of sign mate like always and saw three deer all up on Saturday my mate was also successful and shot an eight about two hours up the kaipo river was a bit uneven but still a top effort.

Well done Camo.we walked in Wednesday and out Friday afternoon. Hut was full of pretty good jokers but didn't need the tent. Didn't see any deer but both of us were whistled at. With the amount of sign about was expecting to see one at any moment. We intend to go back for a bit longer. Unfinished business. Was good to meet you philipgr, hope you have good luck with your hunting. Tony
