Thread: Cascade Hut - Kaimanawas

Second thread for the day team.

Recently been thinking , I've been to the Cascade hut in the Kaimanawas a fair few times but seldom have I seen other hunters in there.

Do many of you lads head in there?

One hell of a walk out up that spine but it seems to be an under appreciated hut.

Shot a fair few between there and Te Iringa , Even had a mob catch me in the nude one rolling out of my fly one morning halfway between the Cascade and Oamaru.

There’s always plenty of deer in there and some stunning country to hunt but as you know it’s a slog both in and out which I think deters a lot of people going in there.

It’s a shame about Stansfield Whare being no more but the river slowly claimed it over time but I still have some very fond memories of that hut.
