    Chopper to Shutes hut ruahine.

Opinions on who to use for my pilgrimage this year into shutes, have to get a helo this year as my knee isn’t up to the walk, only myself going.
I don’t use choppers much so don’t know many, have used hill country Heli in the past to get out when the river flooded us in, back when mark was flying. I heard they were bought out?
Does anyone fly out of taihape? Or Napier?

Looking to fly April in on the 6th and out on the 9th.

    Post your recommendations please.

Mark has a Squirrel now, full time doing ag work and will be a bit pricey. Not sure if he has a DOC concession anymore.
I have heard good reports about Midwest Helicopters in Taihape, or Chris Cross he flys into that part of Ruahines a bit

Not sure Mark has a concession to fly hunters in, someone will know. If Mark can't help the closest is Chris Crosse at East Kaweka Helicopters, he can pick you up from the Oxbow campground at Kuripapongo which will save some travelling and is quite close to Shutes, and he is a top operator also.

Midwest heli out of taihape or Chris Crosse at East Kaweka Helicopters. Both good operators. Although you might be lucky to get in on those dates I would think.

Cheers lads, yea I’ll be taking a warm bag and a fly with me just in case there’s peeps in the hut. It’s not normally a roar favourite as there bugger all deer in there. Taruarau bivv is the spot to get to for animals.
Will contact Midwest and Criss to see who has the best options

If there's someone from the other company at the hut they won't drop you there
