Anyone hanging around Taupo after the sika show for a hunt ? I had planned to head into the Kaipo but plan b I guess....
Good point , might have to set it somewhere else and get an idea of numbers because i cant eat anything from a drop zone for 3ish months? Is that right?
It's ok it won't kill you
Boom, cough,cough,cough
Went for a walk in there on Saturday. Plenty of little green baits all over the show. Although nearly all of them were turning to mush due to the rain. Did see a couple of dead rats in the bush though.
Looked at dozens of baits. No sign of repellant.
with these drops generally, if you hunt that area soon after, how toxic is the water in the streams?
Is it safe to take animals from the area or too soon? Will go check my camera tomorrow. Cheers
If the signs are still up it's "deemed' to be unsafe to take animals, the signs were still up at Pureora south of HW30 but there's heaps of hunters in there, dogs and all.
Nothing to do with Clements rd, but I had to nip down to Hastings last week, absolutely amazed at the effect the big snow dump over the Rangataiki/Napier Taupo hill has had on the countryside---the scrub,(and there's plenty of it), is as flat as a pancake, even the gorse/Broom, is flat!! It's incredible! And at various places along the road--Te Haroto/Tarawera, there's heaps of pig rooting right to the edge of the road. The piggies are as safe as a church in that crap, it was hard enough to get through before but it's fargin impossible now!! A lot of damage to the tops of the bush at various places too.
