I saw the Countdown Ad on TV earlier tonight with promotion for F&B. Hard to ignore when in your face during the adds! Going to be a hard fight for the rec hunter and others concerned.

Oh the irony is that the Nelson and Tasman District council are still handing out free single use dogshit bags at most of their dog exercise areas.
The whole ban the plastic bag thing is just a diversion exercise to take our attention away from something else.

Just write to Countdown and let them know why you choose not to shop with them for now.

For every 1 hunter they lose as a customer they will be gaining 5 F&B members and greenies. Does anyone remember the great "Hunting & Fishing" ban years ago?? It lasted about 5 minutes.

I see you are still waving your white flag as hard as you can. Are you French by any chance?

I would'nt bag the French too much. While I don't like the R warrior episode; it was a sacrificial rearguard action by the French that allowed the British Army to escape Dunkirk. They lost a lot when the Nazis invaded them. Internal politics in France are really terrible but there were some real good bastards in there.

Im confused by all of this, does it now mean that countdown will be stocking albatross wings, long fin eel pate, kauri snails and kiwi drumsticks, not to mention miro stuffed pigeons and mutton bird ? All packed in single use flax kitis of course.

Nah - that would probably create demand for those species and encourage illegal breeding -- which in turn would result in healthy populations...but we'd then be putting our Forest and Bird workers out of a job! Bugger. Back to the drawing board.

The concept of commercialising an endangered species as a way of ensuring its survival was I believe raised by the Lange gov't in the 80s

Agreed. Historically they could teach ISIS a thing or two about mechanized production, but they still never solved that internal problem.

Yes. France was and perhaps still is like a split personality. Some weird things happen. I was amazed to find out how Churchill gave France Vietnam back after WWII and how that eventally led to the VN War. There are many instances in history where gross injustices occur. Our country and the offense on us by mass poison drops is just another example.
My latest info indicates a 2019-20 intent to poison over a million ha.
IMO the management policies for our wild native and introduced flora and fauna, our geology and watersheds should be by conscience vote and not by party political influences. Thus MP's would be accountable to their constituents on these matters and not to political expediencies and extremisms such as we suffered for the past decade or more.
