    Deer Internals Instructional

This is a good instructional on where internal organs are in a deer , for point of aim purposes.

Nice dissection. Never been keen on what I assume to be the classic American/European meat saver shot. To my mind, some meat recovery is better than no meat recovery.

I was about to say that nothing walks away with a smashed shoulder and associated soft tissue damage, but that's not quite true. Recently shot a largish boar. It appeared unimpressed by .308 to the left shoulder, so much so that I thought it was a clean miss. After a follow-up shot and dissection, the left humerus had been broken in two pieces just below the joint. A bit low, but nonetheless, one tough critter.
