    I shot my 1st deer with a mates 25-06 it flattened it mind you I did disconnect the spinel cord from the head It tends to drop em quick smart I wanna buy one at some stage I love the cal

    When I was a teenager I had a hard on for a 25/06(quite a new cal then!) but the 308 was doing ok and then beaver hunting became more important and I just never got there for some reason.
    just as likely to take the 303 these days.

    I never bothered reloading for my 25/06....those Speer Hot Cor 117's in Federal never let me down.....

    A good mate never got past using 100 grain Speers in his....

    That's a cool little gun . What sort of speeds you get with a 9.5" barrel? What grain projectiles?
